Overview
Conflict Management is a necessary tool for the proper functioning of the company, creating a positive atmosphere and enabling employees to be more productive.
It is natural to have little differences among members due to temperament, expectations and experiences and this diversity can aid in organisational goals. However, conflicts can be detrimental to the progress of the company and result in misunderstandings, indifferences, fights, indecision, and delay in deadlines.
Certain clashes of thoughts and tasks can assist in selecting better assignments and projects. These are functional conflicts. The key is to get rid of negative discrepancies but maintain a healthy level of conflict that is constructive for an organisation.
There can be a 'programming' during the decision-making process itself where a selected individual plays a role of the critic. This can help in overcoming long-held disputes as well as avoid ‘group thinking' where everyone pretends to agree on a certain action even though they feel differently.
In order to come up with an effective solution, it is important to find out the real cause behind the clash. The ones that are a result of value differences are the most difficult and need to be addressed accordingly. Though, every resolution can create another conflict within the team. Thus conflicts can be perceived as a series existing differences that are correlated with each other. How well a team handles conflict management greatly impacts the efficiency level of its functioning.

Training topics
Understanding conflict, its impact and defining objectives
The session begins on an interactive note where participants are asked three specific questions. What according to them is conflict? How does it impact them and the task at hand? Which are the skills that they would like to enhance for the day? Post discussing the member’s goals and objectives, the Trebound facilitator will come up with several solutions to tackle conflicts at the work front in a professional manner.
Availing of effective tools
Several times, when a conflict resolution fails to achieve its goals, the cause lies in the ineffective tool and solutions. During this session, various frameworks are put in place for deciding on the angle and recognising possible points of clashes. To familiarise themselves with the models, candidates will exercise the tools employing real-life examples and experiences.
Understanding different people and how to deal with them
Your communication style often needs to be tweaked as per the person you are dealing with. This season is loved by all as it provides handy information that is easily applicable. Here, candidates will study ‘The Communication Jungle’ and learn how to employ effective styles to communicate information to different people.
Listening to others and making them know you have done so
The inability to listen to others will further lead to misunderstandings and only escalate matters in a tensed situation. This session throws light on models for effective listening. Participants will get an insightful lesson on how to listen as well as make others know that they have done so.
How to deal with difficult people and situations
The last leg of the sessions focuses on how to deal with difficult people and situations. Learn effective processes and tools for the same.
